
Sherrie A. LaLande MSN, AOCNP, AGNP-C
Sherrie graduated from St. Petersburg Junior College in 1994 with her associate degree in nursing. She started her career in cardiac followed by an outpatient oncology treatment center. This is where she found her passion, obtaining her Oncology Certification in 1997. Sherrie continued working as a chemotherapy nurse and nursing supervisor for 13 years.
In 2010, she graduated with honors from the University of South Florida’s Oncology Nurse Practitioner program, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing. Shortly thereafter, she sat for the national oncology exam and earned the title of Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner. She worked for Florida Cancer Specialists as a Nurse Practitioner while obtaining her post-graduate certificate in Adult-Gerontology from Florida Southern College before moving to Franklin, N.C. with her family.
Sherrie joined Cancer Care of Western North Carolina and served as the primary advanced nurse practitioner provider for the medical oncology/hematology clinic. In January 2020, Sherrie transitioned her practice to Messino Cancer Centers where she continues to support medical oncology/hematology services, including the outpatient infusion suite. She joins her physician colleagues, Dr. Michael Messino, Dr. Mohan Thakuri and Dr. Chris Chay in collaborative practice.
Sherrie is a member of professional organizations including the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Advanced Practitioner Society for Hematology and Oncology and American Society of Clinical Oncology. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and grandbaby, Jackson. She also enjoys scrapbooking their memories and travels together.
